Book Launched - What Now

Launching a book into the world is giving birth after years of blood sweat and tears, as well as joys, meeting kindred and challenging spirits. It does take a village not only to raise a child but also to write publish, launch and promote a book.

I am extremely grateful for all the assistance I have received over the years and to have the finished product - Under The Boab Tree in the world.

I was pleasantly surprised  yesterday when I received a 5 star rating from Readers' Favorite International Awards for my book.

A snippet from the review:

A typical baobab tree can live for hundreds of years. Just like the tree, Franceska Jordan's Under the Boab Tree similarly chronicles her family's odyssey. Her attention to detail is impressive, delving into the intricacies of a woman's role in running a household from the viewpoint of an insider. Emotional accounts are complemented by interesting episodes that she recalls from her childhood. Her regrets concerning her father's actions and the unique bond she developed with her sister - Olga - make very interesting subplots especially when you consider the way she blends her story with a comprehensive history of South Africa. The sections concerning the baobab tree read like a poem that requires deep contemplation. The memoir is not just an account of the evolution of a family but also that of a painfully divided nation. This is a well-written, thought-provoking literary work.

I am extremely grateful to all those who have bought my book and for all your thoughtful reviews. Copies still available here for Australian readers and on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Bookotopia, Fishpond and Waterstone for international readers.

Blessings and love,

Franceska Jordan
